Prayers of the People

Give attention to your servant's prayer and his plea for mercy, O Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is praying in your presence. --2 Chronicles 6:19

Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. --James 5:16

Surely men of low degree are just a breath, and men of high degree are a lie. In the balances they will go up. They are together lighter than a breath. Don’t trust in oppression. Don’t become vain in robbery. If riches increase, don’t set your heart on them. God has spoken once; twice I have heard this, that power belongs to God. Also to you, Lord, belongs loving kindness, for you reward every man according to his work. --Psalms 62:9‭-‬12

My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken. --Psalms 62:5‭-‬6

My salvation and my honour is with God. The rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.  --Psalms 62:7

They were also bringing their babies to him, that he might touch them. But when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. Jesus summoned them, saying, “Allow the little children to come to me, and don’t hinder them, for God’s Kingdom belongs to such as these. But you, Lord, are a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth. --Psalms 86:15

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil. --1 Peter 3:12

The Lord visited Hannah, and she conceived and bore three sons and two daughters. The child Samuel grew before the Lord.  --1 Samuel 2:21

For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well. Lord, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. God, you know my foolishness. My sins aren’t hidden from you. --Psalms 69:5

May your eyes be open toward this temple night and day, this place of which you said, "My Name shall be there," so that you will hear the prayer your servant prays toward this place. --1 Kings 8:29

Command and teach these things. Let no man despise your youth; but be an example to those who believe, in word, in your way of life, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity. In his temple everything says, “Glory!” The Lord sat enthroned at the Flood. Yes, the Lord sits as King forever. The Lord will give strength to his people. He will judge amongst the nations. He will heap up dead bodies. He will crush the ruler of the whole earth. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it. There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him. When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained, what is man, that you think of him? What is the son of man, that you care for him?
